Jamar Goff, the 23-year-old son of television personality Ree Drummond, received suspended sentences following his September arrest, according to Alabama court records obtained by Page Six on Wednesday, November 4. He was given a 48-month suspended sentence for second-degree assault and a 24-month suspended sentence for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

The court also placed Goff on 12 months of supervised probation and ordered him to complete a substance abuse evaluation and submit to random drug testing. A release order filed November 3 directed that he be released from custody and barred him from the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus. Court records indicated that officials had no objection to transferring his probation to Oklahoma.

Goff was booked into Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham in September on four charges: unlawful possession of a controlled substance, aggravated assault on a police officer, drug paraphernalia possession or use, and attempting to elude an officer.

According to court documents obtained at the time, officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus and found Goff asleep near a fountain without a shirt. The documents allege that he told an officer he was waiting to meet someone to sell “ice,” a term for methamphetamine. After the officer discovered an arrest warrant, Goff allegedly ran and later struck an officer with an open hand at a local hospital.

Drummond and her husband, Ladd, became Goff’s foster parents in 2018. In a 2020 post for The Pioneer Woman, Drummond wrote that Goff had become an integral part of their family after living with them for a year and a half.
