Donna Mills says she chose not to marry because she valued her independence and did not want to feel bound by the expectations of marriage. The 85-year-old actress discussed her decision with host Steve Kmetko, saying she also did not want to promise that she would love someone forever when she could not be sure she would feel that way.
Mills said she recently revisited the subject with her daughter, Chloe, whom she adopted in 1994 at age 54. Chloe has since married and given birth, making Mills a grandmother. Mills joked that she hoped her grandson would call her “Glamma,” though Chloe was not keen on the name.
Mills has been in a relationship with actor Larry Gilman since 2001. In a 2022 interview, she said marriage was not part of their plans, noting that both had established lives when they met. They chose to share their lives without combining their finances, she said.
Mills also made headlines in July after launching an OnlyFans account at 85. She said she was comfortable joining the subscription platform and wanted to connect more directly with fans who had followed her since “Knots Landing.” In an August interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said she was willing to make a video stomping grapes at her vineyard after being asked to film the activity.
