TMZ and The New York Post discussed Republicans’ election losses and the future of the MAGA movement on The Low Down, their joint YouTube show. The conversation examined whether the results marked a turning point for the Republican Party or whether Trump remains firmly in control of it.
Harvey argued that MAGA had run its course and said Republicans were headed for a major shake-up. He also cited CNN commentator Van Jones, who compared Republicans’ loyalty to Trump to drinking the Kool-Aid at Jonestown.
Other participants pushed back, saying Trump still has a strong hold on the party. Some argued, however, that Republicans would need to move beyond him to recover from Tuesday’s losses.
The panel also considered whether the results had hurt JD Vance’s prospects for a 2028 presidential bid and whether Democrats could make gains in traditionally Republican strongholds. While some described the outcome as a political earthquake, others cautioned that one election does not guarantee Democrats will remain in the lead.
