Vivienne, the 18-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has officially removed her father's surname from her legal name. TMZ confirmed that a Los Angeles judge approved her petition on Monday, changing her full legal name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. The court signed off on the request after no objections were filed against the change.
Vivienne originally filed the paperwork in July, shortly after turning 18, citing personal reasons for wanting to drop "Pitt" from her name. Prior to this legal update, she had already been using her mother's surname professionally. She received credit as "Vivienne Jolie" in the Playbill for the Broadway production of "The Outsiders," a project she worked on alongside Angelina.
With this ruling, Vivienne becomes the fourth of Brad and Angelina's six children to legally drop their father's surname. Her older sister Shiloh officially changed her name in 2024, while siblings Maddox and Zahara received court approval for their own name changes earlier this year. Additionally, Vivienne's twin brother Knox has left "Pitt" off his high school diploma, though he has not yet legally changed his name.
Sources close to Brad have previously claimed that Angelina is responsible for the growing rift between the actor and his children, describing the series of name changes as part of an ongoing effort to alienate them from their father. Brad and Angelina finalized their divorce in December 2024, but the couple remains locked in a separate legal battle over their French winery, Château Miraval.
