Erin Benavides, who was previously linked to reports of an emotional affair with former NBA player Tony Parker, died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Page Six, citing the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office. The medical examiner’s office said the full autopsy report is expected to be released in about a week.

Benavides was found dead at her Texas home last month after police conducted a welfare check. The check followed an alarming text she had sent to a friend of her husband, according to the report.

Benavides was married to Brent Barry, then a San Antonio Spurs teammate of Parker. Reports at the time said Eva Longoria learned of the alleged relationship after finding hundreds of text messages between Benavides and Parker. Both marriages later ended.

Benavides was 54 and worked as an assistant district attorney in Texas, handling high-profile human smuggling cases.
