Ariana Grande and Ricky Álvarez helped create a memorable moment for a runner at the New York City Marathon on Nov. 1. While watching the race, they wrote an encouraging note for influencer Ella Schweiger to give to a finisher.

Schweiger shared video of the interaction on Instagram the following day. Grande, who wore a face mask, drew three hearts on a notecard and wrote, “You did it, Ari + Ricky.”

After the race, Schweiger invited runners to choose messages from her large envelope. When one woman picked Grande’s card, Schweiger told her who had written it. The runner was stunned and said she had been listening to Grande’s “The Way” to help her through the race.

Schweiger thanked Grande and the other note-writers in her caption, saying it was kind of Grande to write to a stranger taking on a difficult challenge. She also said delivering the message and seeing the recipient’s reaction was incredible.
