Erin Benavides, who was linked to the affair involving Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, did not leave a suicide note, according to Joe Hayen, director of operations for the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office. Hayen told TMZ that investigators did not observe a note at the scene.
Police said Benavides died from a gunshot wound while in bed at her Port Aransas, Texas, home. The medical examiner’s office said she had one gunshot wound; investigators recovered two spent shell casings.
Police had also found journal entries describing Benavides’ day-to-day difficulties. According to authorities, a friend of her current husband contacted police after receiving a six-word text message from Benavides that caused him to fear she might be suicidal. Officers forced their way into the house after seeing her bleeding on the bed through a window. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Benavides was reportedly married to Tony Parker’s San Antonio Spurs teammate Brent Barry when she and Parker allegedly had an affair. Parker was married to Longoria at the time. Longoria reportedly discovered the relationship after finding hundreds of text messages between Benavides and Parker; both marriages later ended.
