Tony Dokoupil is co-anchoring CBS News’ 2026 midterm election coverage with Norah O’Donnell. Away from the broadcast, he is married to fellow journalist Katy Tur, who hosts The Moment with Katy Tur on MS NOW, formerly known as MSNBC.
The pair met in 2015 while working at MSNBC. Tur noticed Dokoupil filming a segment near the network’s makeup room and later emailed him to suggest meeting for a drink or coffee. Dokoupil later said he had already developed a crush on her before she reached out.
They began dating and eloped in Utah on October 27, 2017, continuing a tradition in Tur’s family. They have two children together: son Theodore “Teddy,” born in April 2019, and daughter Eloise Judy Bear, born in May 2021.
Dokoupil also has two older children from his previous marriage to Danielle Haas. They live in Israel with their mother, a family arrangement he has discussed publicly.
Dokoupil became anchor of CBS Evening News in January 2026, after previously co-hosting CBS Mornings. Tur continues her television career at MS NOW. On November 3, the two networks will cover the midterm elections, with Dokoupil and O’Donnell’s CBS News special scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
