Glenn Close says she is a fan of Frownies Facial Patches, an old-fashioned product marketed to help smooth fine lines. The actress discussed the stickers with Page Six Style at the New York premiere of “All’s Fair” Season 2.

The patches are designed to be worn overnight and come in versions for the forehead and for the corners of the eyes and mouth. Close described them as a small piece of paper that helps prevent frowning during sleep. “It works,” she said, joking that she still frowns after waking up.

Close also showed a patch on her forehead in an Instagram video the week before the premiere, saying she wears one while working at her desk because she tends to frown.

Frownies were invented in 1899. The company says the founder’s daughters promoted the patches to Broadway performers, makeup artists and Hollywood stars during the 1930s. The product has also been associated with figures including Dixie Dunbar, Raquel Welch and members of the Kardashian-Jenner family.
