Delorean Bijon Brandon, the former boyfriend of Christina Downer, has been charged with her murder more than a year after she was last seen. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced the charges on November 2, including one count of murder and two felony counts of injuring a spouse. Codefendant Kaylee Markowski was charged with one felony count of accessory after the fact.

Authorities allege that Brandon, 41, killed Downer, 38, around September 19, 2025, and that Markowski, 34, helped dispose of her body. Downer and Brandon were in a relationship when she disappeared, prosecutors said. Brandon was also charged with allegedly assaulting his wife on two occasions in 2022.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Downer’s ex-husband requested a welfare check in December 2025 after being unable to contact her for an extended period. Brandon allegedly told police that Downer had moved out months earlier, leaving behind her belongings, vehicle and dog. Her phone was later found washed ashore at Santa Monica Beach, and the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division took over the investigation.

Jimmy Fowlie, Downer’s brother and a Saturday Night Live writer, shared a missing-person appeal on social media in December 2025. In April, he said police had informed the family that Downer was no longer alive and that the case had become a homicide investigation.

It was not clear whether Brandon or Markowski had entered pleas. The investigation remains ongoing.
