Cher has no hard feelings toward Michael Douglas after he questioned her 1988 Academy Award win. “Cher adores Michael Douglas,” her representative told Entertainment Weekly on Nov. 3.

Douglas made the remark during an Oct. 30 appearance on The Graham Norton Show alongside his Fatal Attraction co-star Glenn Close. He said Close should have won for the film, then noted that Cher took home the award that year for Moonstruck. Douglas added dryly, “I know, that's what we all said.”

His comment visibly surprised Close and prompted laughter from fellow guests Kieran Culkin and Naomi Ackie. Norton jokingly urged Douglas to be kind, while Ackie called the remark “shade.” Douglas stood by his view, describing Close’s performance as one of the greatest of all time.

Close, a six-time Oscar nominee, also discussed the film’s ending on the show. She said she had resisted reshooting it with her character attacking Douglas’s character’s wife, arguing that the woman was not a psychopath but “a pathetic, out-of-control woman.” Douglas, she recalled, responded, “Babe, I'm a wh--e.”
