Bridget Fonda was seen smiling and walking with a friend outside a Los Angeles deli in November 2026, in a rare public sighting. She wore a gray tank top, a yellow button-down shirt, black pants and white sneakers, according to photos published by People. She was also spotted outside a children’s store in Los Angeles in December 2025.

Fonda retired from acting in 2002 after a career that included films such as The Godfather Part III, Single White Female, Jackie Brown and Lake Placid. A member of the Fonda family, she is the daughter of Peter Fonda, granddaughter of Henry Fonda and niece of Jane Fonda. She received Golden Globe nominations in 1990 and 2002.

Asked in 2023 whether she might return to Hollywood, Fonda said she did not think so, adding that she enjoyed “being a civilian.” In an interview with MovieMaker that year, she reflected on becoming less serious about herself and said she disliked still photography because she felt it could capture and define her. She said acting on film felt different because movement and changing perspectives left more room for possibility.

Fonda married composer Danny Elfman at a Los Angeles church in 2003. The couple welcomed their son Oliver two years later, and Fonda stepped further away from the public eye. Elfman, known for his work on films including The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, spoke about his wife’s perspective on his career in a 2022 interview with The Talks.

The couple made a joint public appearance in April 2025, when they were photographed outside their Los Angeles home organizing items in their garage. In 2020, they sold one of their Los Angeles properties for $8.75 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.
