Victoria Zardoya’s blood tested positive for ketamine, alcohol and etomidate after she suffered a fatal fall while visiting the Fort Dade ruins in Florida, according to a medical examiner’s report obtained by TMZ and reported Nov. 3. The report also found norketamine, a substance produced when the body breaks down ketamine.

Zardoya, a 20-year-old University of Tampa student and childhood friend of Milania Giudice, fell on July 24. The report does not indicate when or why the substances entered her system or whether they contributed to her fall. Etomidate is a short-acting medication used for sedation.

Authorities ruled Zardoya’s death an accident and attributed it to craniocerebral trauma. The autopsy documented skull fractures and bleeding in her brain, according to TMZ.

Victoria Silberbusch, who was with the group at the site, described the rescue in an Instagram post on July 26. She said friends initially believed Zardoya had fallen only one level, but soon realized she had fallen farther. Some members of the group climbed down to reach her while others called 911 and helped first responders find them. Paramedics arrived by boat, and a medical helicopter took Zardoya to the hospital after a difficult rescue, Silberbusch wrote.

Giudice later held a celebration of life for Zardoya. In an Instagram post on Sept. 10, she remembered her friend as someone who could light up a room and recalled growing up together and making memories.
