Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler were seen filming scenes for Miami Vice ’85 by the water in New York City on Sunday night, November 2. Another actor on set appeared to be wearing a police badge on his lapel.
The upcoming film is reportedly set in the mid-1980s and draws inspiration from the original Miami Vice television show’s pilot and first season. Its story follows undercover detectives working in Miami amid drug trafficking and corruption.
Joseph Kosinski is directing from a screenplay by Dan Gilroy. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on May 19, 2028, and is being filmed for IMAX.
