Flyysoulja of the Island Boys says he was hospitalized in Miami after overdosing on a combination of cocaine, benzodiazepines and Percocet on October 29. He told TMZ that he was taken to a hospital for treatment and was released on Monday, four days later.

The rapper, whose real name is Alex Venegas, said he had recently purchased a condo and a car and was celebrating when the situation became dangerous. He also acknowledged struggling with addiction for years, although he said he had stopped using drugs for a period before the overdose.

Venegas said he was placed under a Baker Act, which involves an involuntary mental health evaluation under Florida law. The incident follows a similar episode in November 2025, when he was Baker Acted after a drug-induced psychotic episode at his home in the Miami area.

During that earlier incident, Venegas admitted taking multiple substances before damaging parts of his home while unknowingly livestreaming. He later told TMZ that he had a substance abuse problem and was grateful for the help he received.

In January 2026, Flyysoulja said he was entering rehab to address his substance use, adding that he wanted to become a better version of himself and a better father.
