Colton Little says he is struggling to find acting work in Los Angeles and is facing the termination of his SAG-AFTRA membership over unpaid dues. The 37-year-old actor, known for playing Andrew Donovan on Days of Our Lives, discussed his situation in an Instagram video posted on October 31.

Little said he has worked professionally as an actor for about 15 years, appearing in television shows and films, but that opportunities have become increasingly hard to find. He said he owes approximately $2,000 in union dues and showed what appeared to be a SAG-AFTRA notice stating that his membership was scheduled to end on November 1 because of the outstanding balance.

Describing conditions in the industry, Little cited the pandemic, the 2023 Hollywood strikes and concerns about AI replacing jobs. He said there were few auditions, parts or productions in Los Angeles, and called the situation bleak.

Little said he has decided not to pay the dues for now, choosing instead to prioritize his personal well-being unless the right opportunity comes along. He described the decision as difficult after investing so much in his acting career.

SAG-AFTRA said in an October 25 statement that it would resume membership terminations from November 1, following several years of relief during the pandemic and strikes. The union said affected members had received repeated notices and 12 months to resolve balances, and cited options including installment plans, extended payment deadlines and waived late fees. Members whose memberships are terminated can apply for reinstatement, with financial hardship considered individually.
