An anonymous U.K. celebrity accused of sexual misconduct is due to learn Tuesday whether he can remain publicly unidentified while pursuing legal action against media organizations seeking to name him.

According to The Daily Mail, Justice Matthew Nicklin is scheduled to deliver his decision at the High Court in London. The case concerns whether ITN and The Guardian should be prevented from publishing the celebrity’s name in reports about the allegations.

The celebrity is suing the outlets to keep his identity private. The allegations include claims of “inappropriate and exploitative sexual activities with a large number of girls and young women.” He has denied the accusations.

His lawyer, Sara Mansoori, previously told the court that publicly identifying him could have a “potentially fatal impact,” citing his stated threat to take his own life if his identity were revealed.

Representing IGN and GNM, lawyer Gavin Millar argued that evaluating and protecting the celebrity against suicidal thoughts is a matter for medical professionals rather than a judge.

The court’s ruling will determine whether the celebrity’s anonymity remains protected in connection with the reports.
