President Donald Trump said he is willing to accept the results of the 2026 midterm elections and work with Democrats, according to an interview with The New York Times. Democrats were projected to win the House and potentially the Senate, CNN reported.

“I am absolutely willing to accept those results,” Trump told the newspaper, adding that he expected the two sides to work together and “probably work something out.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had not been on the ballot and claimed that he would have won “in a landslide” if he had been.

Trump also told The New York Times he did not regret endorsing candidates including Ken Paxton in Texas and Senator Darline Graham in South Carolina. While watching the results, he remarked that Graham had lost and wondered how her brother, Lindsey Graham, would have performed had he run.
