Trump also described his standing in Israel as the highest approval rating of anyone in history, but did not cite polling to support the claim. The recovered report contrasts his assertion with a 32% approval rating at home.
The remarks came as Trump discussed the U.S. relationship with Israel, praised the country as a partner and highlighted his administration’s actions against Iran. He also said the United States would stop providing Israel with $4 billion in annual aid in 2027.
Trump made a similar joke in May, when he also claimed to have 99% support in Israel.
