President Donald Trump claimed Republicans would have won the 2026 midterm elections “in a landslide” if his name had been on the ballot. He made the statement in a Truth Social post late Tuesday, November 3, adding that he had not been on the ballot. At the time of publication, CNN had projected that Democrats would take control of the House of Representatives.
Ahead of the vote, Trump had repeatedly urged Americans to act as though he were on the ballot. During a Tuesday appearance by phone on Fox & Friends, he also said he would move to Israel and seek to become prime minister if Americans tired of him. He claimed to have 99 percent approval, while a CNN poll conducted from October 13 to 26 found his disapproval rating in the United States was 64 percent.
Trump also discussed U.S. military aid to Israel, saying he believed the country no longer needed it. He described Israel as a thriving nation and said he would support continuing the aid if it did need assistance.
In a separate interview on the Monday, November 2, episode of Pod Force One, Trump was asked to name the most attractive members of his administration. He mentioned Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and also called Secretary of War Pete Hegseth good-looking. Trump praised all four, describing Bessent as suited to play a leading role in a movie about the Treasury.
