Todd Chrisley defended daughter Savannah on an October 30 episode of his podcast, Two Sons and Me, after online commenters called her a “Gold digger” following news of her marriage to Jason Galanis. Savannah, 29, and Galanis, 56, have also announced that they are expecting their first child and recently shared the baby’s sex.
The criticism has focused in part on the couple’s 27-year age difference and Galanis’ criminal history. He was convicted in connection with multimillion-dollar securities fraud schemes and served time in federal prison in 2020. President Donald Trump commuted his sentence in March 2025.
Todd said some comments had linked Savannah’s engagement ring and her marriage to a billionaire to claims that she was seeking money. His mother, Nanny Faye Chrisley, joked that she would do the same if she had the opportunity. Todd responded with a joke of his own, saying it would have helped him if Savannah had started “digging” while he was paying legal fees.
He also argued that Savannah does not need to rely on a partner financially, pointing to her work with a clothing line, cosmetics and Good Girl RX. Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were pardoned by Trump in connection with tax evasion and bank fraud.
