Taylor Swift offered a rare glimpse into her relationship with Travis Kelce while discussing the friendships featured in Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 5 with director Andrew Stanton.

The singer, 36, said the film reminded her of her longtime friendship with Abigail Anderson, whom she met after moving to Nashville at age 14. Swift recalled being the new student and eventually connecting with Anderson, who shared her sense of humor and unconventional interests.

Swift explained that she and Anderson still speak to each other in different voices, including impressions inspired by Napoleon Dynamite. She joked that their husbands, Kelce and Charles Berard, respectively, have to put up with the habit.

The singer demonstrated one of their exchanges, imitating a conversation about their plans for the day and whether one of them was playing with her child. She also compared Anderson’s curly hair to Blaze, a character from the film.

More seriously, Swift said the friendship resonated with her because Anderson understands her “strange little genre” at her most genuine. She described finding someone who appreciates that side of a person as deeply meaningful.
