Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson offered support to Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell after Campbell was injured during their game on Sunday, November 1. Hockenson told reporters he had been involved in the play but did not see exactly what happened, and said he was thinking of Campbell, his family and the Lions locker room.

Hockenson said the players compete against one another but share the experience of putting their bodies on the line each week. He added that nobody wants to see a player go down and that he hoped Campbell would be all right. Hockenson also noted that he had experienced injuries himself and said the Vikings locker room was sending prayers and good wishes.

Campbell went down at Detroit’s Ford Field after a tackle involving Hockenson. He was taken to a local hospital and remained there overnight. His wife, Meghan, joined him on the field and accompanied him to the hospital in an ambulance.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff also described the injury as frightening and said the team was praying for Campbell and hoping he would recover. Detroit beat Minnesota 19-15.
