Suki Waterhouse has briefly reflected on her past relationship with Bradley Cooper while discussing her long-term partnership with Robert Pattinson. In an interview with The Sunday Times published on October 31, she said her connection with Pattinson had lasted far longer than her previous relationships and had surprised her.
Waterhouse, 34, and Pattinson, 40, began dating in 2018 and have been engaged for three years. “It is almost a decade and that is a beautiful thing,” she said, adding that she feels grateful and happy to have him in her life. She also noted that maintaining a relationship can be difficult when both people have demanding careers, travel frequently and do not live in one place.
Waterhouse did not name Cooper when referring to their relationship, which lasted from 2013 to 2015. “Before I had only ever gone out with someone for two years, and if it was two years, it would have been a disaster at the end,” she said.
She previously spoke about the breakup in a July 2024 interview with British Vogue, describing the experience of a public and difficult split as isolating. Waterhouse said it had taken her years to understand herself and make space for a fuller life. She also said she had no regrets, describing past experiences as material that ultimately led her to a “really pure” love.
In her Sunday Times interview, Waterhouse also discussed wedding plans and raising the couple’s daughter, born in March 2024. She said plans to marry are on hold until at least the end of the year, adding that if they decide to proceed, they would want a large celebration. She described herself and Pattinson as confident parents who are closely connected to their daughter and finding their way through an unusual life.
