Savannah Guthrie has renewed her appeal for information about her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing from her Tucson, Arizona, home for nine months.
The “Today” host shared an old drawing on Instagram made by her 12-year-old daughter, Vale. The message read, “I know it might not seem like it, but I really need my mommy.” Guthrie said the drawing reflected how she and her family continue to feel despite trying to maintain a sense of normality for their children.
“We cannot move forward,” Guthrie wrote, adding that her family “ache” for Nancy and are “crying out for answers.” She described her 84-year-old mother as “a light in this world” and asked anyone with information to help the family give her the dignity she deserves.
Nancy was last seen at her home at about 9:30 p.m. local time on January 31. The FBI later released footage showing a masked person outside the residence. A note received on February 6 claimed Nancy was being held for ransom and would be released unharmed after payment, although Guthrie also acknowledged that her mother could be lost or might already be dead.
Guthrie said she and her family need to know what happened and want Nancy to come home. They are offering a $1 million reward for information leading to her.
