Saturday Night Live honored Patrick Stewart during the closing moments of its October 31 episode, days after the actor’s death. The NBC sketch comedy series remembered him with footage from his 1994 appearance as host.
The archived segment showed Stewart introducing the episode’s musical guest, Salt-N-Pepa. The program also shared a promotional photo from his appearance. Stewart hosted Saturday Night Live only once.
Stewart, known for his work in Star Trek and X-Men, died at 86 after what was described as a brief battle with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia. According to a statement from his representative, he spent his final moments surrounded by family and friends, with music, prayer, tears and laughter.
