Rosie O’Donnell has praised the latest season of Sister Wives after discovering that Kody Brown and his wife, Robyn, are no longer part of the TLC series. O’Donnell said she had not watched the show for a decade before tuning in to season 21.

“I just put on season 21 of Sister Wives” and was glad to find Kody was no longer on it, O’Donnell wrote on Instagram on Monday, November 2. She shared a promotional image featuring Kody’s former wives Meri, Janelle and Christine, and called it “interesting” to see the women after him.

TLC announced in a season 21 trailer in September that Kody and Robyn would not return after 16 years of filming. Janelle and Meri said in the trailer that they were surprised by the news. Janelle later told People she had received an email informing her of their departure.

The new season has also featured Janelle reflecting on her relationship with Kody. She said their relationship was centered on the family and that tensions between Kody and their children during the COVID-19 pandemic became a turning point for her. Janelle and Kody confirmed their split in December 2022.

Christine, who announced her separation from Kody in November 2021, and Meri, who confirmed in January 2023 that their spiritual relationship had ended, are also among the former wives featured in the season. Robyn remains legally married to Kody. Sister Wives airs Sundays on TLC at 10 p.m. ET.
