Milo Ventimiglia says memories of making Gilmore Girls still mean a great deal to him, including the time he spent working with former costar Alexis Bledel. In an interview with Us Weekly published Nov. 2, he said recalling the set experience “really fills me up.”

Ventimiglia and Bledel, who played Jess and Rory, dated for nearly four years before ending their relationship in 2006. Their relationship has remained amicable, and Ventimiglia’s memories of the series include working alongside Bledel and Jared Padalecki.

One moment he recalled involved filming on the Warner Bros. back lot. Ventimiglia remembered carrying a large prop bag and asking for a sandbag to be added so it would feel as heavy as it looked.

He said that, for him, the lasting memories are less about individual scenes and more about the experience of making the show. Ventimiglia is also due to appear in an upcoming HBO Max documentary about Gilmore Girls. He said he admires creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and Lauren Graham, while noting that filming took place 26 years ago.
