Lindsay Clancy remains on suicide watch behind bars, and her attorneys say she is struggling with recurring nightmares about the deaths of her three children. Attorney Rosemary Scapicchio told CBS News that Clancy does not want to be alive and would take her own life if given the opportunity.

“She doesn’t want to be here,” Scapicchio said, adding that Clancy wants to be with her children. According to the attorney, Clancy wakes up thinking about them every morning and experiences what she described as “horrible dreams” about what happened.

Clancy is accused of strangling her children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan—in January 2023 before jumping from a second-story window. The fall left her paralyzed from the waist down.

Her first murder trial ended in a mistrial in September. She is due back in court Monday to learn whether prosecutors will seek a new trial. Clancy has pleaded not guilty to the murder charges.

Clancy is also suing 11 medical professionals, alleging they failed to properly treat her psychiatric condition before the killings. Her attorneys maintain that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, a claim disputed by the defendants.

She remains in a Massachusetts psychiatric facility.
