Lenny Kravitz was not aboard the Learjet that crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Sunday, November 1, his representative Carleen Donovan told BocaNewsNow. “The reports are untrue and incorrect,” she said, addressing social media speculation about the singer’s involvement.

The rumors followed a since-deleted Facebook post by Florida-based pilot Emily Shelton, who had said she was looking forward to flying Kravitz from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to North Eleuthera Airport in The Bahamas. Shelton was also wrongly identified online as the pilot of the aircraft involved in the crash. In a TikTok post, she said she was not the pilot and asked people to stop spreading speculation about the tragedy.

The Learjet 60, which had departed from Austin, crashed onto a roadway near Cresthaven and Greenacres at about 12:50 p.m. ET, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said. All nine people aboard died. No one on the ground was reported killed or injured, though debris from the crash sparked local fires and led to the evacuation of about 600 mobile-home residents, according to Palm Beach County Commissioner Joel Flores and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration. Authorities have not released the names of the nine victims. One pilot was identified by her mother as 20-year-old Nathalia Filgueiras.
