LeBron James took a quick sip from a fan’s cup of red wine during the Philadelphia 76ers’ 126-107 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday. Video of the exchange shows James reaching the area behind the basket and steadying the fan as he moved past him.
After helping the man stay upright, James picked up his wine, smelled it and took a sip. He appeared to approve before returning to the game with his teammates.
The win improved Philadelphia’s record to 7-1. James finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and nine assists.
The fan, identified as Troy Clemens, later said he had not thought to keep the cup. He described James as an ordinary person and said he was glad the player was helping the team win.
