La La Anthony and Carmelo Anthony have finalized their divorce, ending a marriage that lasted more than a decade. The former couple received a certificate of dissolution on Nov. 4 after both signed affidavits agreeing to the settlement terms, according to court documents reported by E! News.
The Anthonys first separated in 2017 and briefly reconciled in 2018. La La filed to end the marriage in 2021, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple’s son, Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, turned 18 before the divorce was finalized, making child support no longer an issue, according to the report. A qualified medical child support order is still listed as pending in the documents; such an order typically requires a child to be enrolled in a parent’s health care plan.
La La has previously said that public scrutiny contributed to difficulties in the marriage. In a 2022 appearance on the podcast Call Her Daddy, she described the pressure of living in New York in the public eye as a point when their relationship became complicated.
The former couple have said they remain focused on co-parenting. In 2023, La La told E! News that their son was at the center of their family and that they wanted him to see his parents as loving and supportive of one another.
