King Charles III appeared visibly annoyed when a sudden rainstorm interrupted his and Queen Camilla’s appearance at Antigua and Barbuda’s 45th independence anniversary parade on Sunday.

The couple were attending the ceremony at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium when heavy rain began to fall. Camilla was quickly given an umbrella, while Charles could be seen looking around before receiving one himself, according to BBC footage.

The monarch, who has cancer, eventually continued with the ceremony under an umbrella. In a video shared by the Royal Family’s Instagram account, he joked to Prime Minister Gaston Browne: “I think I’m about to grow watercress on my suit.”

Charles wore a beige suit with a colorful tie for the event, while Camilla wore a white Anna Valentine chiffon dress featuring gold embroidery. Earlier that day, she had joined him for a service at St. John’s Pentecostal House of Restoration, wearing a turquoise sundress and matching earrings.

The royal couple’s Caribbean tour began on October 27, when Charles arrived in the Bahamas. The itinerary has also included Guyana and Antigua, with Camilla joining the visit on its fifth day.

The tour has taken place amid continued calls for the United Kingdom to pay slavery reparations. During a youth rally in the Bahamas, Charles acknowledged the “great suffering” and injustices of the past while speaking about the country’s culture and future.

Protesters gathered when Charles arrived at an event in Nassau, according to the BBC, shouting “pay us what you owe us” and “return artefacts you’ve stolen.”
