Kim Kardashian says she remains committed to becoming a lawyer and plans to retake the California bar exam after failing it last year. In an interview with People published Tuesday, November 3, she said she wants to wait until she has enough time to prepare rather than rush into another attempt.

“I am always thinking about the bar,” Kardashian told the outlet while attending the New York City premiere of All’s Fair Season 2 on Monday, November 2. She added that she will take the exam when she has free time to focus on it. No date has been announced for her next attempt.

Her All’s Fair co-star Sarah Paulson voiced support for Kardashian’s ambitions, telling People she believes Kardashian will become a successful lawyer.

Kardashian sat the California bar exam in July 2025 after completing the state’s Law Office Study Program, an alternative to attending traditional law school. She revealed in November that she had not passed, while making clear she had not given up on her goal. She later shared a video documenting her preparation and reaction to the result.

She announced her intention to pursue a legal career in 2019, citing her late father, attorney Robert Kardashian, and her work in criminal justice reform as inspirations. In December 2021, she passed California’s First-Year Law Students’ Examination, commonly known as the “baby bar,” on her fourth attempt. Kardashian currently plays an attorney in Hulu’s All’s Fair, whose second season is set to return Wednesday, November 4.
