Kellie Pickler has reached a property settlement with the parents of her late husband, songwriter Kyle Jacobs, according to documents obtained by People on Nov. 4. The terms are confidential, but the documents say Pickler and Reed and Sharon Jacobs have resolved all claims and disputes between them and are satisfied with the distribution of the estate’s assets.

The agreement follows a legal dispute over Jacobs’ belongings after his death in 2023. In court filings from May 2024, his parents alleged that Pickler had not given them some of his personal items. Their requested property included musical instruments, jewelry, firearms, watches, a laptop and an iPhone. Pickler, in turn, alleged in court documents that her in-laws entered her home and took personal property after Jacobs died.

Jacobs, who had worked with artists including Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw, was found dead at the Nashville home he shared with Pickler in February 2023. The Davidson County medical examiner ruled his death a suicide.

Pickler and Jacobs began dating in 2008 and married in 2011. They also worked together on several songs, including “One Last Time,” “The Woman I Am” and “Feeling Tonight.” After his death, Pickler stepped away from public life. In an August 2023 statement to People, she thanked family, friends and supporters for their messages as she grieved.
