Kanye West’s Yeezy label is set to hold its first runway show in four years on Wednesday, according to Business of Fashion. The presentation is planned for the brand’s new Los Angeles flagship, which will be its first brick-and-mortar store.
Titled “Yeezy Season 01,” the event appears to signal a fresh start for the fashion company, launched in 2015. Yeezy representatives had not immediately responded to Page Six Style’s request for comment.
West’s previous runway show, “Yeezy Season 9,” took place in October 2022 during Paris Fashion Week, though it was not on the official schedule. The show drew criticism after West wore a “White Lives Matter” shirt during a speech before the collection was presented. Some attendees, including Jaden Smith, left in protest.
The backlash intensified after West made antisemitic comments, and several companies and organizations, including Adidas, Vogue and Balenciaga, ended their ties with him. West had already ended his 10-year deal with Gap in September 2022 and did not secure another retail partner after the fallout.
Earlier this year, West apologized for offensive and racist remarks, linking his behavior to his bipolar diagnosis and complications from a 2002 car crash.
