Justin Timberlake is reportedly working on a four-part docuseries for Apple TV, due in December, that will address some of the most scrutinized episodes of his career. Variety described the project as a “tell-all,” according to sources cited by the outlet.
The series is expected to feature Janet Jackson discussing the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show she performed with Timberlake, including the moment he tore part of her top during “Rock Your Body.” Jackson’s representative, along with those for Timberlake, Spears and Apple, had not responded to Page Six’s requests for comment at the time of its report.
The incident prompted more than half a million complaints and an investigation by the Federal Communications Commission. Jackson apologized the day after the broadcast, saying the planned costume reveal had gone further than intended. She later said in her Lifetime documentary that she and Timberlake had forgiven each other and remained good friends.
The reported docuseries will also revisit Timberlake’s relationship with Britney Spears. Spears has said he ended their relationship with a text reading “It’s over,” and has described having an abortion after he was unhappy about her pregnancy. She also alleged that he cheated on her with a well-known woman.
In 2021, Timberlake publicly apologized to both Jackson and Spears, saying he had benefited from a system that condoned misogyny and racism.
