Justin Timberlake is reportedly working with Apple on a four-part docuseries about his career and personal life, including the controversy surrounding the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show with Janet Jackson and his relationship with Britney Spears. Fisher Stevens is set to direct, according to Variety. The series is expected to premiere on Apple TV+ in December, though its title and further details have not been announced.

The halftime show became controversial after part of Jackson’s costume was pulled away during the performance, exposing her breast on live television. The project is reportedly set to include an interview with Jackson about the incident.

Timberlake has said the wardrobe malfunction was accidental. In a 2018 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, he said he had made peace with Jackson. Jackson later described the incident in her 2022 documentary as an accident that had been blown out of proportion, and said she and Timberlake remained good friends.

The docuseries is also reportedly expected to address Timberlake’s relationship with Spears. In her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, Spears wrote about their three-year relationship and made claims about infidelity. She later apologized on Instagram for some of what she had written and praised Timberlake’s song “Selfish.” Timberlake has not directly commented on the memoir.
