Disney Night brought the remaining eight couples to the ballroom on the November 2 episode of Dancing with the Stars, with guest judge Cynthia Erivo joining Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough. The performances drew on Disney stories and their Broadway adaptations, but Julia Stiles and professional partner Ezra Sosa were ultimately eliminated.
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson received a perfect 40 out of 40 for the second week in a row, following their score on Horror Movie Night. Their season-long combined score also earned them immunity from next week’s dance-off. Shum said he was focused on dancing to express himself rather than to impress the judges.
Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy also earned a perfect score for their individual routine, the second top mark of the night. Erivo praised Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov after their quickstep to “A Star Is Born” from Hercules, calling their performance joyful and highlighting their strength.
The episode also featured two group dances. Alfonso Ribeiro joined team captain Tatyana Ali, Jan Ravnik, Maura Higgins, Mark Ballas, Stiles, Sosa, Glenn and Pashkov for a routine to “Zoo” from Zootopia 2. The group scored 36 out of 40. Julianne Hough took part in another team performance to “We’re All In This Together” from High School Musical, alongside Connor Wood, Rylee Arnold, Ezra Frech, Daniella Karagach, Dewan, Chmerkovskiy, Shum and Johnson. That team received 40 out of 40.
After her elimination, Stiles described the competition as an incredible experience and said she had discovered things in herself she had not realized were there. She also praised Sosa and said she would miss seeing him every day.
