Jon Gosselin says he has been cut off from his eldest daughters, twins Madelyn and Cara, for 13 years, describing the silence as deeply painful. The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star said he was once an active parent in their daily lives before losing contact with them when they were 13.

“I just want some kind of response,” Gosselin said, adding that even a message would let him know where things stand. He said the uncertainty has weighed on him for years and that he has nightmares about what his daughters may believe about him.

Gosselin, 49, said he has missed milestones including graduations and proms and knows little about the twins’ lives. He said he has not seen them enough to recognize them if they passed him on the street.

He is also estranged from four of his 22-year-old sextuplets: Leah, Alexis, Aaden and Joel. He remains in contact with Collin and Hannah. Gosselin suggested his estranged children may believe a negative account of him, but said he does not blame them and believes they live in fear.

Gosselin alleged that his ex-wife, Kate, told him and Collin that each did not want to see the other, and said he believes she gave Madelyn and Cara a similar message. He also said he thinks the same may have happened with the other four estranged sextuplets.

In a recent message to his children, Gosselin said he still loves them and hopes they will reach out. He encouraged them to read their brother Collin’s book and make their own judgments as adults.

The six children have largely stayed out of the public eye in recent years, apart from occasional glimpses shared by Kate on social media.
