Jon Gosselin says he has not heard his twin daughters Madelyn and Cara speak in 12 years. Speaking on the Legally Goff Podcast on Nov. 3, he said he had been separated from them since they were 13 and had missed events including their graduations and prom.
“Alienation is like silence,” Gosselin said, describing the experience. He added that he had once been an active, everyday parent and found the estrangement upsetting. Gosselin, who shares eight children with his ex-wife Kate Gosselin, said he has photographs of the twins but has not seen them in so long that he might not recognize them on the street.
He said he does not know whether Madelyn and Cara have partners, what their favorite colors are, or whether they drive. Gosselin suggested that the twins may believe a version of events he attributed to TLC, while saying he feels he was cut out of their lives.
Gosselin also discussed his relationships with his other children. He said he last saw Joel, Aaden, Alexis and Leah in 2018. He remains in contact with Collin and Hannah, two of the sextuplets, and they are set to appear with him in an upcoming Netflix documentary about their lives during the TV show. Hannah recently said she had not lived with her father or spoken with Collin in about a year.
Gosselin referred to abuse allegations Collin made in his memoir, In The Shadow of 8. Kate Gosselin has denied Collin’s accusations, writing in an Oct. 22 TikTok post that she knows who she is and that her children know her.
