Jessa Duggar says her mother, Michelle Duggar, has been a major source of support as she raises her six children with husband Ben Seewald and prepares for the arrival of their seventh. Speaking on the Unplanned Podcast on Oct. 28, Jessa described her mother as “a calming presence” who has been there for each of her births.

Jessa said Michelle helps at the hospital and also pitches in at home, including cooking, cleaning and staying up with the newborns. During one labor, Michelle encouraged Ben to go home, shower and sleep, assuring him she would stay with Jessa. Jessa said that support has made recovery easier and called her mother “an angel.”

The couple also spoke about Michelle’s role in their children’s lives. The kids call her “Lolli,” and Ben said she often brings a bag of treats and crafts when she babysits. He described her as someone who finds joy in helping others.

Jessa and Ben, who married in 2014, announced during the podcast episode that they are expecting their seventh child.
