Jessa Duggar praised her mother, Michelle Duggar, for being a steady source of support as she prepares to welcome her seventh child. Speaking on the October 28 episode of the Unplanned Podcast, hosted by Matt and Abby Howard, Jessa said her mother has been present at the hospital for each of her births and called her “a calming presence” and “an angel.”
Jessa, 33, said Michelle’s help has been a major blessing while she raises six children with her husband, Ben Seewald. She credited her mother’s practical support after each birth—including caring for the newborn, cooking and cleaning—with making her recovery easier. Jessa also praised her father, Jim Bob Duggar, calling both parents “the best.”
Recalling a moment during her sixth pregnancy, Jessa said Michelle encouraged Seewald to go home, shower and sleep in his own bed while she stayed at the hospital to help. After Jessa returns home, Michelle also babysits the children. Seewald said the children call her “Lolli” and look forward to the bag of activities she brings when she visits.
Michelle, who has 19 children and 45 grandchildren, enjoys helping her family, Seewald said. Jessa announced last month that she and Seewald are expecting their seventh child. The couple, who married in 2014, have six children: sons Spurgeon, Henry, George and Eddie, and daughters Ivy and Fern.
Jessa said she was the one who suggested having another baby, explaining that she gets “baby fever” soon after giving birth. Seewald said he supported her decision, noting that she is the one carrying the child and wants to become a mother again.
