Jennifer Lawrence was photographed in New York City on Tuesday morning, November 3, with fans noticing a gesture that resembled Katniss Everdeen’s three-finger salute from The Hunger Games. Lawrence also wore her hair in a braid, recalling the character’s look in the films.
Lawrence and her Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson have been confirmed to return for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film follows 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy from District 12 as he enters the arena for the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. There, he forms an alliance with fellow tribute Maysilee Donner, played by Mckenna Grace, and joins a group seeking to challenge the Capitol’s control under President Snow, played by Ralph Fiennes.
Directed by Francis Lawrence and written by Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie, the film is based on Suzanne Collins’ novel of the same name. It is scheduled to open in theaters on November 20.
