Hailey Bieber says she struggled with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) after the birth of her son, Jack Blues, and felt there was little discussion or research about the condition. She spoke about her experience in a recent interview with Women’s Wear Daily.

“Conversation, for me personally, makes me feel less alone,” Bieber said, explaining that sharing experiences can make the condition feel less isolating. She also said her interest in women’s health grew alongside frustration at the lack of awareness, particularly after her own pregnancy and childbirth.

PMDD is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome that can cause intense mood changes. Bieber previously discussed her diagnosis on the “SHE MD Podcast” in May, saying her symptoms affected her work, relationships and social life. She described the week before her period as mentally extreme and said the condition should be taken seriously.

Bieber is among several public figures who have spoken about PMDD. Lili Reinhart, Zara Larsson and Dixie D’Amelio have also discussed having the disorder.
