The families of seven passengers killed in a private jet crash near Greenacres, Florida, issued a joint statement Monday remembering their loved ones and expressing heartbreak over the tragedy. The crash, which happened Sunday, killed nine people, including two pilots.
Adam Robinson and his wife, Helen Sharp, were remembered as devoted parents to their children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2. The statement described the children as the center of their lives and praised the couple’s warmth, generosity and welcoming nature.
The families also paid tribute to passengers Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr, describing them as joyful and adventurous, and as a couple building a life together. Anita Maria Cetina, the family’s nanny, was remembered for her devoted care of Emma and Charlie and as someone who was part of the family.
Relatives thanked first responders and the Palm Beach County community for their support, and extended condolences to the families of the two pilots. They asked for privacy while they grieve and said memorial arrangements would be announced later.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash. Officials said the aircraft encountered ice buildup and moderate turbulence before the pilots declared an emergency.
