A rehearsal mishap nearly left Connor Wood in his pants during a team dance on Dancing with the Stars. Ezra Frech recounted the moment after the show’s Disney-themed episode aired on Nov. 2, saying Wood forgot to remove his rip-away trousers during a camera-blocking run-through.

The routine brought Frech, Wood, Jenna Dewan and Harry Shum Jr. together for a dance set to music from High School Musical. At the finale, the men were meant to rip off their pants and reveal underwear spelling “D-W-T-S.”

“We all ripped our pants off, did the ending, and Connor still had his pants on,” Frech told E! News. Wood then realized he had forgotten the planned costume change. Frech’s partner, Daniella Karagach, said the others called out, “Connor! Pants!” to remind him of his cue. The prompt worked, Frech said, adding that Wood is one of the funniest people he has met.

Karagach credited Shum’s partner, Jenna Johnson, with suggesting the rip-away pants for the team number, calling the idea “genius.” The dance earned perfect 10s, according to the report.

Frech and Karagach also performed a samba to “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid. Frech said they initially thought a samba was not possible, but grew more confident as Karagach learned how his prosthetic worked and they tried different movements. The 21-year-old said he was amazed they were able to bring the dance together.
