Erin Lichy says her Real Housewives of New York City costar Daisy Toye was not responsible for Martha Stewart’s Halloween makeup, which drew criticism after Stewart shared and then deleted a photo of her costume.

“I know that she didn’t [do the makeup],” Lichy said on the November 3 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. She added that she knew where Toye was and that Toye “was not there.” Cohen said he was glad to have the question answered.

Stewart’s costume featured tattered clothing, makeup that appeared to resemble dirt and a sign reading, “I AM HUNGRY. HELP ME.” She said the outfit was intended to raise awareness about homelessness, but acknowledged that it had offended people. In a later Instagram apology, Stewart called the costume insensitive and not funny, and said she was sorry.

Toye has appeared on season 16 of RHONY because of her close relationship with Stewart. On the show, Toye described working for Stewart for 17 years and said she had traveled with her around the world. Stewart has also called Toye a makeup artist to the stars, adding that Toye does her makeup.
