Erik von Detten was photographed putting up Christmas decorations outside his California home on Wednesday. The former Disney actor was seen hanging lights and climbing onto the roof, as well as talking on the phone and driving a golf cart.
The sighting comes as von Detten faces a lawsuit filed by Norman Greenberg, 97, and Sheila Greenberg, 85. The couple alleges that they suffered $900,000 in damages in connection with their dealings with von Detten and his former employer, Rosland Capital, according to TMZ. The claims have not been established in court.
The couple alleges they spent about $2.1 million on coins worth only $1.3 million and says Rosland Capital exploited older customers’ concerns by promoting gold as a stable investment. The company, which dealt in precious metals, is now in bankruptcy. Von Detten worked there as a senior account representative and sales agent.
Von Detten, known for roles including the “Princess Diaries” and for voicing Sid Phillips in “Toy Story 3,” has kept a low profile. His most recent reported screen role was in the 2024 Lifetime movie “My Acting Coach Nightmare.” He said in a 2021 interview with E! News that acting work was too inconsistent for him.
