Erik von Detten was seen hanging Christmas lights at his Los Angeles-area home while facing an elder abuse lawsuit tied to his connection with Rosland Capital. The former Disney star climbed onto his roof wearing shorts, socks, shoes and a hat, according to the report.
The lawsuit was brought by Sheila Greenberg, 85, and Norman Greenberg, 97. They allege Rosland Capital targeted older customers and sold them overpriced gold. The couple say they contacted the company after seeing a television advertisement and were connected with von Detten. They claim they spent $2 million on coins later valued at $1.3 million.
Creditors pursuing Rosland Capital have also accused von Detten of obstructing their investigation. Court documents cited in the report say the company owes creditors $60 million.
During the afternoon he was putting up the lights, von Detten took a phone call and appeared frustrated, the report said.
